Residential Electrical Contractor, Advisor
A team building estimating and permit tools for electrical contractors, via HireLoft
About HireLoft
HireLoft is an advisory marketplace for the trades. We pay experienced operators to show software teams how their business actually runs, then turn that knowledge into AI agents those trades can put to work. Operators set the pace, get paid by the hour, and are never asked to buy anything.
About the role
This team is building estimating and job-intake software for residential electrical contractors. They have engineers but no one who has actually pulled a permit or priced a panel swap. You would join recurring calls to keep them honest about how the work really gets scoped, quoted, and inspected.
What you will do
- Walk us through how a job gets scoped and priced, from the first call to the quote.
- Walk us through panel upgrades, generators, and EV charger installs.
- Walk us through permits, inspections, and the paperwork that slows jobs down.
- Walk us through where estimates go wrong and margin disappears.
About you
- You own or run a residential electrical business, or did recently
- You personally estimate jobs, or manage the people who do
- Five or more years in the trade
- Comfortable on a recurring video call
Compensation
This role pays $110/hr, invoiced after each session. You are told the rate before any call and paid for your time whether or not anything else comes of it. Most engagements start with one or two calls (ongoing advisory), and operators who know their numbers are invited to ongoing paid advisory.
Logistics
- Location: Remote, US. Calls happen over video.
- Time commitment: 2 to 4 hrs / month, on a schedule that works for you.
- Recording only happens with your consent, and your company details stay confidential.
This is a paid advisory and research engagement, not a job and not a sales pitch. HireLoft does not sell your information, and taking part never requires a purchase.
